To meet the minimum standard of competence for all students assigned to shipboard duties as required in Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code as amended, this course is designed to enable the trainees to successfully demonstrate the competences on Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting.
Specifically at the end of the course the students must be able to:
- minimize the risk of fire and maintain a state of readiness to respond to emergency situations involving fire; and
- fight and extinguish fires.
