Musical Symbols and Concept

Music involves different symbols. The most common of these symbols are the staff, the cleft and the musical notes.

The Staff

The staff is consists of five lines and four spaces. Each of these lines and spaces represents a letter which corresponds to a musical note.                                         

The Clefs

Two types clefs

  1. Treble clef or the G clef
  2. Bass clef or the F clef
  • The treble begins on the G line of the staff. A musical composition that requires high pitched musical notes or musical instruments.

 

 

 

  • The bass clef signifies lower register of music. A musical composition that requires low pitched musical notes or musical instruments.
